The Coroner's Office has recently been made aware of fraudulent phone calls or messages being left by persons impersonating a deputy coroner and the caller ID returning to a number associated with the Coroner's Office or San Mateo County.  If you receive one of these calls, please do not provide any personal information to the caller and contact our office to verify the validity of the information and to report the call.  If you have any questions or concerns, a staff person can assist you between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and midnight.  You may also report the scam to the Federal Trade Commission by visiting the website:
