The purpose of placing these cases on our site is to increase access to the public with hopes that someone might have knowledge about the identification of any one of these individuals.
If you have information regarding the identification of a person listed, please contact:
San Mateo County Coroner's Office
Telephone: (650) 312-5562
San Mateo County Coroner's Office also maintains the profiles of unidentified persons on the National Institute of Justice's National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), a national centralized repository and resource center for missing persons and unidentified decedent records. For more information, visit the NamUs website.
If you are the loved one of a missing person, please report the missing person to your local law enforcement agency as soon as possible. Request to submit DNA to the Department of Justice (DOJ). The law enforcement agency may gather oral swabs from immediate family members (biological mother/father or biological children are the best samples for submission). Siblings and other distant relatives may submit DNA samples, but submission from multiple relatives builds the best missing person DNA profile. Once the missing person's DNA profile is submitted to DOJ, the profile is compared to the DNA profiles of unidentified persons across the nation. For more information, visit the FBI Services website.
